Constant Artz, Ducks and ducklings
Watercolor
Constant was the son of The Hague School painter D.A.C. Artz.
Constant Artz painted the Dutch landscape with willows and mills, but is best known for his water views with ducks in all their activities. He painted this motif in numerous ways, showing himself to be a very good observer of nature.
Artz was a particularly handsome watercolorist.
His work is in demand, which unfortunately also means that there are quite a lot forgeries in circulation.
Watercolors are rare and seldomly offered for sale. Watercolors can be copied as well of course, but it is very difficult to reach the same level of quality.
